That was AWESOME.
Feb. 22nd, 2008 10:52 pmSo I finally watched the pilot episode of Being Human and I have SUCH a girlcrush on Annie, honestly. She is such an awesome character, she's got this great quiet strength ... I just keep thinking about the discussion on
poisontaster's journal about female characters we love, and how so many of them were these ass-kicking warrior chicks who wear their strength on the outside, but she's growing into it a little bit at a time and I want to see that SO BAD. Plus, she had my two favorite lines of the entire night:
1. "I've always thought that in Hufflepuff they just spend the entire day making stuff with safety scissors and glitter," which I honestly had to stop the episode for because I was laughing so hard, and;
2. That line about Death and what's really there that I don't even want to repeat because it was just SO GOOD, because I honestly froze for a second and said, "Wait, what the hell is THAT supposed to mean?!"
And Mitchell! Mitchell, who is about five THOUSAND feet tall and about ten pounds. Heh. And yet for all of that, still hot and scruffy, and I do feel bad for him, because he turned that poor girl and he fucked it up so badly she didn't become a vampire, she turned into a scenery-chewing tartlet instead. And when you're surrounded by people playing vampires and you're acting like that, that's not good.
Also, my love for George cannot be expressed in anything other than interpretive dance. The kind of interpretive dance done by hyperactive Muppets on sugar, caffeine and crack.
Oh, and the homosexual innuendo that isn't even that subtle! And the house that's on about the same level as mine, interior-decorating-wise!
I hope we get more of it. That was magically delicious.

Okay, now I am going to finish off my emails and go the hell to bed. I was going to write but I'm tilting over in my office chair as we speak, so. *yawns*

M: A bigger one of us?
And yes, Annie's line about the corridor and what's there. OMG! Brilliant! Small, quick and terrifying! I want it to get picked up for a series RIGHT now. I want all the secondary characters recast but leave George, Mitchell and Annie. They are perfect.
There is apparently - thanks to one of the reviewers - a petition to tell BBC3 that "yes, please, you are on the right track. Now make the series"

Date: 2008-02-23 08:26 am (UTC)Signed the petition. It's very much in the nuWho/Torchwood vein, for obvious reasons, but the more of that stuff there is around and doing well, the more chance there is that someone will make something that's different.
