Oh, that's just great.
Mar. 11th, 2008 03:33 pmClinton was in the area yesterday and announced that she was going to be in Scranton's St. Patrick's Day parade this weekend. Which ... okay, I like her and I'm definitely going to want to at least see THAT much of the parade (although as one of Jess's friends said in complete confusion one year while discussing the annual barhopping fun, "... wait, there's a parade?"), but damn it, like the city wasn't going to be crowded with drunken idiots already.
In the same vein, I'm almost not looking forward to this weekend, in which I will have five days off and will be barhopping for two of them. As much as I want to go, there's a part of me that really ridiculously LOVES the new story I'm working on and I'd much rather lock myself in my apartment with a family-size bag of Cheetos and several two-liter bottles of Pepsi and pound out as much of the story as possible while my engines are still all revved up. Granted, I have yet to go back and edit anything, or to pay attention to where the timeline is going exactly, so there's a lot of little details to go back and change that I'm afraid to touch right now because I like what I've got and I'm so damn YAY over it. And I've almost got ten thousand words which, WOOHOO.
Another good thing -- I've been feeling less depressed lately, which makes me feel like my hunch that I've got seasonal affective disorder instead is right. Of course, I highly doubt my bad habit of leaving all of the lights off except for the string lights in my living room helps any. Urgh.
In other writing-related news, I think what I'm going to do in regard to my Bigbang is wait until April first to work on it. I have my idea and I really want to wait to start it until after I've gotten a good chunk of my current original novel written. I'm hoping that working on something that perks me up will get me writing every day again, so I won't spend the entire month running around like a chicken with its head cut off.
*sigh* Somebody win the Powerball and pay off my debts so I can sit at home and write all the time. Pretty please? With chocolate sauce and a pony?
