Obama's going to be in Scranton on Monday!

I'm not working that night! He's got to be doing some sort of public thing where I can go and shake his hand and wish him luck, right? Right?! *grabs you all and shakes* RIGHT?!

Sorry, I've just never seen a presidential candidate up close before and this weekend I'm at least going to see one of them if I can wriggle through the crowd and get close enough to see Clinton in the parade. I'd have thought I had a better chance of meeting the creepy gnome from South America at this point. And if he does some sort of handshaking thing, I am so very skipping the St. Patrick's Day barhopping I'm supposed to do with Jess to be a creepy stalker total fangirl concerned voter. (I'm sorry, I can drink with Jess anytime and it's Obama. Although maybe I can talk her into coming along.)

I'm so jealous.

I saw President Clinton speak in person during his first campaign as well as worked on Jerry Brown's primary campaign at the community level. Both very cool experiences.

It's very likely he'll spend time shaking hands if he's doing a public speech. Get there early so you can get close to the stage, which is where he'll most likely be doing the handshaking.

I was in the same room as Obama a few weeks ago!

I wasn't sure of it at the time, though. It was at NIU's memorial service, and I'd heard rumors he was coming. But he was so far away I wasn't sure if it was him, and he didn't speak...

But I saw pictures later, so I was in the same room!
