I know very little about some of the people on my friends' list. Some people I know relatively well. I read your fic, or we have something else in common and we chat occasionally. Some of you I hardly know at all. Perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. But you friended me and I thank you.
But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...she likes spinach."
I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal.

Date: 2003-12-11 02:48 pm (UTC)Random fact: When I was 10, I sat underneath a trampoline and my cousin did a sit-drop on my head. The creepy one-armed ER doctor thought my parents had pushed me down the stairs or something and threatened to make them leave. I have never watched Peter Pan or Hook the same way again. *shudder*

Date: 2003-12-11 02:48 pm (UTC)I grew up in a house where we heated with wood stoves so I used to chop kindling and carry wood, and I can make a fire in a wood stove faster than most people.
I sleep with my blankets over my head, and with books in the bed.

Date: 2003-12-11 07:13 pm (UTC)Sorry.
I didn't learn how to tie my shoelaces until around 6th grade. Also, I like to highlight random objects in my spare time (shoes, phone, arms, etc.)

Date: 2003-12-11 02:52 pm (UTC)I actually helped my father keep bees, which was how I got this position.
It was even more funny because I am mostly not the type. Think Wednesday Addams as the Junior Honey Queen. Except I didn't plot anything painful with the bees.

Date: 2003-12-11 02:54 pm (UTC)And two non-vegetable and incredibly random factoids:
- I went to 4 Monkees concerts in the summer of '86
- My first word was "adios" (which was odd because no one in the house spoke Spanish)

Date: 2003-12-11 03:08 pm (UTC)Hmm. My sister and I were jumping on my bed once and she was throwing me and catching me. Except then she threw me on an angle and my face hit the wall. The cartilidge in my nose flattened out and I had to go to the hospital. I've had a bump on my nose ever since.

Date: 2003-12-11 03:09 pm (UTC)I also like it when people think I'm crazy, which partially explains why I often say, "I killed a man in reno.. just to watch him die", when people are talking about what they did the previous weekend. The other part of that explanation is because I'd be a cultural elitist if I had the cultural knowledge, and that's a great quote from a great artist.

I like brussel sprouts, raw or lightly steamed.

Date: 2003-12-11 03:13 pm (UTC)I just lurk, as you might have noticed since you actually don't know me, because I usually don't really know what you're talking about --we don't have the same references apparently-- but each time you crack me up, I swear! What can I say, I just love the way you think, and the way you write. I mean, why the hell shouldn't I tell you, right? *g*
Now... a little something about me. Hmm, oh yeah, I know. When I was a kid, I was pretty much a TV junkie-- okay, okay, so I'm still a TV junkie, that's not the point! The thing is, we used to live in a small apartment, and I don't know what happened in my brain, but each time someone switched the TV on, I had this sorta 'pop' in my head that told me a TV had been, well uh, switched on. It wasn't that I heard the TV or anything, I would be in my bedroom, playing with my sis or something, and suddenly something in my head went 'pop'. What can I say, TV was calling to me! My mom was sorta worried because that shouldn't happen to a normal human being (well, to our knowledge that is) and because that's a mom's job, to worry about their children, but it never hurt me... anyway, one day, it just stopped.
And now, you also know something else about me, I actually can ramble and ramble about the tiniest of facts- making a one-liner story into a real essay *sigh*
*frowns* Know what? I guess I could have mentioned the eleven year old girl who fell in love with me when I was nine because she thought I was a little boy, but let's say this a story for another time *g*
