BUT you know what I want to see? I want to see a crossover where Pepper and Alfred Pennyworth commiserate over what it's like to take care of two ridiculously wealthy genius playboys who feel obligated to help the helpless. Or futurefic where Pepper and Tony never hook up, they just grow old and stay close and still only have each other and snark at one another and die two days apart or something. Or the story about the worst thing Pepper ever caught Tony doing. Heh.

In summation, I should have known going to see the movie again yesterday would spark plotbunnies. *sigh*

I know, right? I mean, I adore the shippy stories, but the thought of the two of them just being really good friends for the next, like, forty or fifty years makes me giddy. I just picture her coming over to his house every day even though she's retired because he goes through nurses like some people go through Kleenex, even though he's pushing ninety.

Aunt May and Tony's butler Jarvis had the whole platonic thing going, that is until Tony put on his Hitler hat and Peter fled with his family for the sake of Drama. May made Jarvis break down, it was so aaww.

And earlier; Jarvis/Wolverine and Aunt May/Wolverine snark. Sometimes Marvel gets it right.

Actually, backlash. I now can't get out of my head a scenario where, when you make it sufficiently far into the socio-economic stratosphere, there is a discreet knock on your door, and outside is someone in a sharp suit going "The agency sent me, sir."

Needless to say, this knock comes as you are nursing the biggest headache your epic fortune can buy...

But Alfred, Pepper and all those other nifty 'helpers' all being sent from the same agency...the thought just won't leave me be!

In the Ultimate universe, the worst thing Pepper ever caught Tony doing...well, I dunno, but Ultimate Jarvis is gay as a three dollar bill, with a horny-on for Captain America. Seriously.

And in the Heroes Reborn universe, Tony boffed Pepper, then literally flew off to EXIT THE ENTIRE REALM OF EXISTENCE. WITHOUT TELLING HER.

Far different from going down to the 7-11 for ice cream. He left REALITY.
