I don't know...we might have gotten a little taste of the Sammy-whammy there at the end of the encounter with Lilith. It looked like she was getting ready to blast him with something (the yellow light of?) and then she couldn't. She ran rather than finish it. It makes me wonder if old ceiling demon didn't touch Sammy because he didn't or because he couldn't.

Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I concur, but I keep thinking of Superpowered!Sam more along the lines of using his powers proactively, not reflexively. I'm glad at that much of it, at least - I'd rather he not be able to use them at this point. I prefer Dean going to Hell first and then Sam learning to use his powers.

Totally agree. Although that bit at the end was about the only thing that kept me in the episode. I had to really psych myself up to watch this (didn't really want to see one of the boys die again, even if Kripke tried to desensitize us to it months ago) and then right before the episode airs, "American Pie" starts playing; I almost said fuck it right then and there. It was kinda one of those things that you knew had to happen and was going to happen, but that you hoped might not happen so long as you didn't actually see it happen. If you get me...:)
