Tell me something awesome about a woman you love in any fandom. Wax poetic. I want to hear people talk about what they love about female characters. And try to pick female characters or women in RPF who haven't already gotten love so we can spread it around.

You know what? I'm picking Boo. Yeah, okay, she's a very tiny woman. Who cares? She's silly and fun and adorable, and looking at an icon of her always makes me feel better, and she learns how to be brave right before our eyes. I heart that so much that I really wish I had the time to rewatch Monsters Inc. before I leave for work, but I don't, damn it.

Tiffany Aching, the aspiring witch from Terry Pratchett’s Discworld books. She’s smart, tough, brave, and sensible, yet believably flawed and human. And of course, her mentor Granny Weatherwax, who would have been a magnificent Bad Witch she hadn’t chosen Good.

Ofelia from Pan’s Labyrinth (see icon), who manages to be both dreamy and practical, and is willing to sacrifice her dreams and her life in defense of the innocent and helpless.

Ellen Ripley. In Alien she’s a competent woman unexpectedly plunged into a nightmare, who rises above her terror; in Aliens, she not only faces the monster a second time, but manages to get past the distrust of androids caused by Ash’s betrayal and comes to appreciate Bishop.
