"That color was NOT on that mood board."

Wait, you mean THAT color?

Okay, granted, maybe it looked different in real life but dear editors, you seriously didn't notice THAT when you were editing in the mood board right next to the dress?

In better news, Brent's growing on me and I'm happy to see Lui coming into his own.

Wandering in off friendfriends... I think the editors were poking fun at the judges Amazing Race style. Otherwise I can't see why they'd bother putting the colour board up.

I'm starting to think Lui might be the quiet achiever of the group and stick around quite a while.

Oh, that would be BRILLIANT. The American PR editors are prone to leaning into Amazing Editor status but I can't really remember an instance of them doing it on PR Australia just yet this season (though it may just not be popping out at me because it's two in the morning). That'd kinda rock, actually.

I was "meh" on him until that last challenge when he was getting annoyed and was in his talking head and just blurted out, "... why you pick me?!" I barked out a laugh and he had me. :)

I've suspected them of editing shenanigans a few times, especially in relation to making Helen look the villian. I do remember them showing Leigh wearing the shoes that caused the model to stuff up, so they're at least doing a bit of foreshadowing.

I think that might be a combination of his quiet personality, finding his feet and suddenly getting more air time. I've loved his last two designs.

Lui's win was totally deserved, but that elimination was entirely stupid. I was pleased to see that Brent can do something well, which just makes me think that he needs to choose his garments more carefully - there's really only been one week where he *had* to make a dress. I wish Henry hadn't told Wendy Pepper Helen to add a third piece, though - that was the only thing that saved her!

I think the judges had Brent's problem nailed this week -- he's been leaning on his menswear designer excuse, but he's been slowly realizing, "You know what? I can't keep doing that." And instead of that making him fall apart he's working with it.

Lui's dress was gorgeous. If I were tall enough to work it I'd be all over that action.

Hee! I didn't realise you were watching PR Australia as well. Someone I can talk to about it other then my family. Yay! *grins*

I had the exact same though. I wondered if they meant the shade of pink. But that's still a bit of a stretch.

Oh, if they're speaking English and making clothes, I'm watching it. Technically I'm watching three PRs right now -- the American, Australian, and Filipino versions. The only reason I'm not watching five is because Canada's still casting season two and Britain's not on. Addiction: i has it. ;)

No, Kristy mentions it's the gray that's not on the board. Which, HEE. Oops.

Yeah, I know. It was like 'Um...the colour is there, dude.' Silly judges. Is it just me or is the guy whose name I can't remember right now terribly enthusiastic about everything? I miss Tim Gunn. (Although I don't mind local guy, but he just reminds me a little too much of an overly happy muppet.)

Oh yes, the mini PR runway viewing party that happens in my flat everyday Monday night (I'm in Australia) was going wtf to the the judges pronouncement.

I think they had to balance out the obviousness of Lui winning -- I mean, really, that dress was amazing -- with the WTF of bumping Petrovna.

Also, I've now rewatched the preview for next week and I have a theory that they're designing for the eliminated designers as their models. Six left, six gone. And it would certainly explain Helen's breakdown -- could you imagine if she got stuck with Oren?

Oh, I hope that's true!

I can't waity for Helen's breakdown. Can't. Wait. Does that make me a bad person?

Not at all. Anyone whose entire stategy of winning is sneaky through the preliminaries with 'just good enough' deserves a meltdown far as I'm concerned.

Seconded. I can't believe she would just ... okay, no, let me rephrase. I can believe SHE would say that, but I can't believe she would SAY that, you know?

And it's basically admitting that you don't deserve to be there, because everybody else is pulling out the stops every week and you're saying, "I'll only put out good design when I absolutely have to to keep my ass off the streets." This "flying under the radar" bullshit pisses me off, because there are people who are gone who genuinely WANT to be there and WANT to be trying every week and instead we've got Helen.

I'm so sad to see her gone - and I'm sure it was one of those producers' decisions, to keep conflict on the table between Juli and Marc. On the other hand, Brent is starting to crack me up a bit. Onya, Brint.

Someone talking about PR Australia, it's like I've died and gone to heaven! Or possibly just ventured outside my own flist for once, but you know...

And yeah, hi, that was exactly my thought, it looked like the exact same color. My immediate thought was that if they'd wanted to criticize something, it should have been that her garment and color scheme didn't fit in with the rest of the collection - not the color chart. And I'll admit it didn't fit, but I'd rather have an odd color in a collection than an outfit that blends into the color scheme like that atrocity Helen sent out onto the runway, but is, judging by their own comments, decades off from the rest of the collection, not just a few years like Petrova's.

One thing that I've also noticed is that the Australian version sucks at keeping the suspense in the winning/losing designers. Like this week - the only one who even stood a chance against Lui's dress had to have been Brent, so they send him off first?! After that you knew who it had to be. And with the losers, instead of keeping Helen on with Petrova, they keep another well-liked designer out there. Keeping Helen out there would have meant an emotional investment in the outcome. This way it was bound to end up a disappointment whoever was sent home.

HEEE. Well, if it's Project Runway, I'm probably watching it. :)

I really wish they'd used more of those orange and brown shades, because it really did seem to be the pinks and the blues and that's it, with the exception of Petrova's dress. It made it stand out from the others and I think that might be part of the reason the judges were like, "Was that even on the color chart?"

Oh, yeah, that's one thing I've noticed them doing that bothers me. Brent had immunity -- it wasn't like if he were in the bottom three and it was blatantly obvious he wasn't going home. He had no chance of losing but every chance of winning, especially considering they gave him high marks for making a great outfit (seriously, that was lovely) and stretching his menswear experience into a more feminine aesthetic. Meanwhile Leigh got warned for puckering in the back. As for Juli and Petrova ... well, hell. *sigh*

I felt so bad for Juli's model, getting that dressing-down on the runway. I knew the tripping or whatever was coming during the runway walk so I couldn't bring myself to watch that -- sometimes my embarrassment squick is just too much -- and skipped right past. But, aw.

Heh, I looked back a few entries and there is a lot of Project Runway out there! I had no clue there was a Norwegian version. I actually tried it at YouTube, but even though I understood it perfectly, and even though all I found was the runway shows for the first few episodes, I pretty quickly rejected it as a viable option for me. Seriously, one look at that rinky-dink runway and I started rolling my eyes. So typically Scandinavian! Come on, it's not like plywood and felt costs all THAT much, just slap together something with a tad bit of heft to it, why don't you?!

with the exception of Petrova's dress. It made it stand out from the others
Yes, definitely. And I think it's kind of funny, because I think Petrova was more on the nose with the time period based on that inspiration board, but the fact that ALL the other designers heard "60s" and ran with the mod style made her dress more inappropriate than it should have been had they filled the brief better. I actually think that Brent was the only one who was pretty spot-on, both in terms of time period and in terms of updating it for today. Helen's and Leigh's, in particular, didn't feel like something you could wear today at all. Leigh, however, was saved by that fabulous cape. Helen should have just gone, no matter how fun and infuriating she is to watch.

(I'm especially sad because I loved Petrova's stuff early on. Lately she's been a bit out there, but the first couple of challenges I was sure she'd be at least in the top three.)

I felt so bad for Juli's model, getting that dressing-down on the runway.
Yes, and what made it even worse is that I think that in this situation she did the right thing. Sure, for a fashion show you'd have to keep going, but this is a television show, and had they wanted to, they could have just edited out the shoe fiasco and just shown the real walk - which is definitely what I would have thought if I were that model. (I totally watched the whole thing, The Office (UK) cured me of my embarrassment squick. NOTHING can ever feel embarrassing after you've watched David Brent go at it - in any situation.)
