-- You know what's great? Finding mistakes at work that no one else caught. \o/

-- From TWoP, seven things Heroes needs to do to stop sucking. Almost all of that is dead on point, although I'm not sure I agree with the point to add more Sylar. I mean, I like the character, good or bad, but I think he works better in smaller doses.

-- A group of San Francisco first-graders took an unusual field trip to City Hall on Friday to toss rose petals on their just-married lesbian teacher - putting the public school children at the center of a fierce election battle over the fate of same-sex marriage. Aww. That's awesome, regardless of all the haters.

-- Friday we're all supposed to go to the bar for Jess's birthday. Luckily we're spending the night at just the one bar, which always works out a hell of a lot better than when we bar-hop.

I've given up on Heroes, and I loved the first two series. Even when they were doing that bloody stupid "begorrah" version of Ireland (has nobody on their scriptwriting team ever *been* to Ireland?) But I can't watch it now. It's just become tedium incarnate.

And I speak as somebody who slogged his way through the second series of Lost.

A lot of those points about Heroes are right on, especially about too many alternate futures, dropping new characters at the expense of old, and death meaning pretty much nothing. Lately it hurts my head. Yet I love it still. I can't help it. There's more good points than bad, even in spite of all the cockups.
