Our 7-11 definitely needs to start selling better alcohol. There's absolutely no Smirnoff, red or black, so I had to settle for Mike's Hard Cranberry Lemonade. I've never had this before, but it's actually not half bad.
However, Smirnoff Triple Black remains the alcoholic beverage I'd drink an entire case of simply to celebrate the fact I've got a working esophagus. You know, if I wasn't a cheap three-bottle drunk.
I still think it's terribly unfair I got the brains and my little brother got the wow-this-TARDIS-holds-a-lot-of-liquor hollow leg.

Date: 2004-01-16 08:43 pm (UTC)In a few weeks, there will be an election concerning whether or not to allow alcohol sales in certain restaurants here (they have to have seating capacity over 100 and derive more than 75% of their profits from food sales, if memory serves). Even though it would stimulate the local economy, which it severely needs, I see a LOT more "Vote No" signs out there than "Vote Yes" signs...

Date: 2004-01-17 08:10 am (UTC)i was cracked up by the liquor store a few feet over the Meade county line: on one side of the sign it said "bernie's first chance" and on the other, "bernie's last chance."
i think it was bernie, anyway...
