Bush looks like this speech makes him want to sink into his chair and never come out again.

*giggles*

The great thing about an articulate President is getting a speech that verbally kicks the horrible previous president in the nuts. Heh.

He looks like a kid scolded by a teacher in front of the entire school for something he really was responsible for.

Brother and I were just commenting on how miserable he looks.

We were watching at work--we reserved one of the conf rooms and ordered patriotic cupcakes.

Every time Bush appeared on screen, looking just a little bit more scrunched into his coat than before, the whole room giggled.

Oh, he looked fine until Obama started speaking, but then when Obama started speaking, he looked incredibly uncomfortable. Every point where you were thinking, "Man, that's got to be making Bush squirm," he was probably doing it.

I kinda felt a little sad for Bush, I mean for a few moments anyway... I dunno what I was thinking, but WOO Barack!

and does it gracefully, with three syllable words, and pronouncing NU-CLE-AR correctly.

I know, right? I'm a little surprised that Bush appeared to get that he was being verbally prodded.

Look, I'm up for bashing Bush as much as the next gal, but not at the expense of stigmatizing valid dialectical variation. His other speech differences notwithstanding, nucular isn't an impediment, just a widespread variant pronunciation of that word.

I always have felt a little sorry for him, he's been in way over his head these past eight years.

But only a *little* sorry, because after the first four a wise, or even sensible man would've given up.

So basically every time he mentioned "for so long" which is totally not a euphemism for 'the last eight years'.

Everytime they showed Bush, I couldn't help thinking, "Man, there is the glummest chimpanzee I have ever seen..."
