At random ...

-- The
spn_j2_bigbang signups are ridiculous. If even half of us get our stories done, that's a couple hundred stories to read at least. DAMN.
-- I'm watching Titanic and I have no idea why. Not because I dislike it -- I love it in all of its glorious cheesiness, and they're up to the sinking so it's the good part, and I like seeing the ship more than the stupid romance anyway -- but I tuned in because the cable guide said it was the TV-movie version of Titanic that had George C. Scott as Captain Smith and Catherine Zeta-Jones as some random first class chick who has/had an affair with Peter Gallagher's eyebrows, and Tim Curry is a creepy steward who rapes a third-class passenger and keeps his smarm on for an impressive four hours worth of miniseries.
-- I can't find my tax paperwork from last year, so I have to call the IRS tomorrow to get some of it so I can finish e-filing. I hope I get to keep my return because I've already done all of the work except for the e-signing and it'll be my biggest return to date, but I have a feeling it might go straight towards my college loan in which case ... well, hell, as long as it takes me one step closer to being in less debt, that'll be nice. (Although I'd prefer to pay off my car and see if I can pick up a secondhand treadmill somewhere.)
-- Everybody's making icons of fandom characters wearing Aretha Franklin's inauguration hat with the big bow. I can't decide who I'd want to wear one in an icon. Hmm.
-- Rod Blagojevich is hilarious. Can we keep him? I mean, not as governor, obviously -- he's psychotic -- but can he just come on TV every once in a while and have a press conference where he, like, displays Anne Geddes photos of babies dressed like pea pods before comparing himself to Oliver Twist or three-legged puppies or whatever?
-- Today is a writing day. No, really. No, I'm serious. I'm totally writing stuff today. I'm letting myself finish watching the movie, but after that I'm going to get something done, I swear to God. I want to get at least two chapters done, although I'll be happy to just get one done or crack 100k finally. If I can do either of those I'm going to try to work on any of the other stories I've been putting off because I just want to get GPW done and out of the way. I'm worrying about it too damn.
Otis is helping by lying lengthwise against the side of my leg in such a way as there is no possible way I can get up and do anything else without waking him up and pissing him off. Gee, thanks, sweetie. *pets him*

Date: 2009-01-25 07:28 pm (UTC)I love those icons so hard. Loved Aretha in the hat... love, f'r instance, Stephen Colbert in the hat just that little bit more.

Did you read that his lawyer quit? "I never require a client to do what I say, but I do require them to at least listen," Edward Genson said. BWAH.

OMG YES. Wasn't that the best? Oh, did you see that clip of Rachel Maddow watching the "cowboy" press conference and eating popcorn? That just about summed up my reaction to everything he does. :)
(I am, I will admit, a tad bit afraid that when they finally impeach him and kick him out of office he'll call a last press conference and pull a Budd Dwyer on us.)
