I don't watch any of the other shows so I don't know about the other characters or approaches, but one thing I liked about Ghostfacers was that they didn't make Corbett the stereotypical gay. Good for the show!

Well, they didn't define outstanding in what way, right?

If they meant how the gay character was presented/portrayed, I'm happy for the SPN nomination, because they could have made Corbett the typical stereotype gay but they didn't. He was a sweet average guy.

So apparently GLAAD too thinks gay love can pierce the veil of death and save the day, huh? Because you KNOW they couldn't nominate SPN for the incredible love story of Sam and Dean.

Oh, how wonderful! I hope they win! :D I was far more impressed with "Ghostfacers" than I was with Ghost Whisperer's "Slam" as far as how the character was portrayed (these are the only episodes nominated that I've seen), although Ghost Whisperer didn't do a bad job... I was just far more impressed with Corbett and his role in the story.

That's simply AMAZING. I didn't even know they did that stuff, actually. But Corbett was such a sweet guy, and I give SPN a lot of credit for making him that way. Especially with the roughness of Dean (though I may be making my own judgments), it could have gone horribly awry. The way everybody just accepted him, and knew that gay love would pierce the veil of death is perfect.

For instance, if you look at Angel versus BtVS, the way those sister shows portrayed gay characters was very, very different. AtS couldn't really care less; BtVS made oblique references and generally had the Evil!Gay!Dead! Stereotype...

... if you would, I could throw a couple of links explaining all of that.
