I think I need to make a deal with my brother. He doesn't mention anymore how a few years ago we had a heavy snowstorm on his birthday -- in the middle of April -- and I won't smack him upside the head.

Getting my mom to stop giving him death-glares when he says that? Yeah, he's going to have to deal with that his own damn self.

(I would really like to send any snow we might get for the rest of the season to Australia, since I imagine they need the cooling-off and precipitation more than we do.)

In other news, I have to call work later and double-check we're closed today. It's Jess and I believe her, but there's a perpetually paranoid part of my brain that's just not having it unless my boss tells me so.

We just need rain here in the south, please -- I'm pretty sure those under water in the north won't thank you (I'm thinking Victoria and Queensland need to do a swap, we send some of our fires up to dry them out and they send some of the water down here to put the rest of the damn things out. I am still in shock over the whole 84 dead part).

Yes, for the record, Australian weather = BATSHIT CRAZY.

Ah, gotcha. You may have all of our precipitation, although right now I'd frankly just like to get rid of the thick layer of ice that's under all of our messy brown snow and is now making everything look like a great big dirty ice rink.

And yeah, last I saw it was 65 dead, I believe. Ugh, it's horrible.

96, Christ. It was 85 half an hour ago when I was on the bus home. Fires are scary.

*clings to you*

...FWIW the Red Cross has an appeal:

and you can do credit card donations. The magic of the intarwebs!

I keep thinking back to this morning when twenty was a bit of an exaggeration. *clings too*
It's not massive as far as disasters go (as in big world disasters) but we're just so used to being able to count it on one hand.

If you'd like to stuff some of those rain clouds in a postpac I'd appreciate it!
