I just found out that our company is still giving out the pay-for-performance bonuses for the last half of last year, which I'd gotten the impression they were giving up on for obvious reasons.

If I get the smaller one like I have the last couple of times, I'm paying ahead on my rent.

If I get the bigger one for once, I'm buying a Kindle.

*crosses fingers*

WAAAAAAAANT. I mean, I doubt I'll end up getting it, but I've wanted a Kindle for so damn long and I'm already a bit ahead on my bills thanks to my tax return and now there's a new version and waaaaaaaant. *grabbyhands*

If you do get the big one *crosses fingers for you*, and you do buy the Kindle, will you let us know how it goes?? I want one desperately, but at the moment, I don't think they're available in Canada *grumbles at living in the Great White North*

I still highly recommend the Sony PRS-505. Though, I'm guessing having folders/collections may not be all that important for most people...won't lie the wireless book buying is almost tempting. (um I don't buy DRM books because you can't adjust the font/margins)

Well I think the Sony PRS-505 is only 280...it doesn't have wireless but it has other stuff that makes up for it.

Yeah, but I don't think it's as good. I want the Kindle!! Plus, I love the tag line on the Sony page; "Re-Kindle your love of reading!" LOVE IT!

I think both devices have their pros and cons however for my needs the Sony PRS-505 won hands down. I like being able to just drag and drop RTF files onto my device instead of sending my stuff to amazon to get formatted by whatever their standards are. Also, I like being able to create folders to organize the books I add to my device, and my prs fits perfectly in my purse. the Kindle is slightly larger and the new one you have to pay 39 dollars to get a cover.

For more information on the various e-ink devices I highly recommend this page.

the new kindle also did away with the SD card slot so you do get 1.4Gig of internal memory to use but my device has the sd card slot and I can add as much memory as I need. (which is surprisingly a lot since I started to make mangas for my device)
