Oh, for fuck's sake.
Feb. 24th, 2009 03:11 pmI may have no choice but to take a personal day today.
I have been trying like crazy to sneak in a few hours worth of nap since I woke up this morning (at 6:30 ... thanks bunches, Otis) but I haven't been able to. I am SO FUCKING TIRED, to the point where I'm even starting to get a headache trying to sleep. And for added fun, I've been wrestling with my POS printer all afternoon and the little bastard keeps freezing up and giving me a paper jam and I kind of want to throw it out a window. *sigh*
On the bright side, the reason I'm fighting with my printer is because my mom called me before and asked me for a copy of The Monsters of Moosic. Why? Because the guy she works with who talked to me yesterday about editing something for them knows/is friends with/lives next door to/has some sort of friendly relationship with some guy who owns one of the largest independent publishing companies in the country. Or something. I really didn't get to ask much about the details, because I was too busy quietly freaking, because my mom leaves for Florida tomorrow so if I want to get it to him this week I've got to bring it to her work today. And I wouldn't be so frantic about it, except my mom wrote/drew a children's book for a college class and never did anything with it, and she's giving him her manuscript, too, and I'm sorry but there's no way in hell I'm going to let my MOM get published before me. Hmph.
Oh, are you kidding me? It's jamming every ten goddamn pages! *headdesk*
