-- I did not get the pay for performance bonus this time. Apparently doing more than I normally do which usually earns me the damn thing didn't this time. Urgh. Well, at least I'm not that badly off. *sigh*

-- And then I come home to this bullshit. I don't even think I want to watch. This is why I'm annoyed that they don't take a contestant's entire performance over the course of the season into consideration for the final meal. Stefan was better and Carla was nicer. No wonder Gail and Tom and those guys supposedly were all defensive before the finale even aired about the person they chose as the winner. They knew damn well no one would like it.

I seriously hope that when the reunion airs next week, they put Leah and Hosea on the hotseat once and then spend the rest of the episode talking with Carla, Stefan and Fabio. Yet another winner I hate. Thanks a lot, show.

-- Currently pissing me off: That I think I need another hour's worth of sleep instead of working on GPW like I'm itching to do. RAWR.

-- I have been reading American Wife. I'm not sure I particularly like Alice but I definitely don't like Charlie. For some reason, this really bothers me considering who they're based on. Yes, I KNOW, but the thing is that at least Alice has some basic logic and reasoning skills and isn't an utter tone-deaf jackass, whereas Charlie doesn't seem to blurt out anything that a.) makes me believe a woman would like her would fall for this douchebag and b.) makes me believe that anyone but other douchebags would find him charming (at least at first, I think he'd even lose the douchebags later on), whereas I can believe that at least before he became a raging moron Dubya would have seemed harmless if not charming. And when he is acting vaguely like a real politician, he's treating her like shit. It doesn't exactly make for someone I want to read another three hundred pages about, even if it is from the POV of someone else who believes she loves him.

When were they getting all defensive? Bastards.

I didn't get a chance to read them -- it got mentioned in the speculation thread on TWoP -- but from what I heard Gail at least was bending over backwards before the finale aired about the winner only being judged on that one meal and you don't see everything and blah blah bitchcakes. And from what I saw this morning on the forums over on TWoP, Toby was pissed and thought Stefan should have taken it and the judging-on-the-final-meal thing was bullshit.

Ugh. I can think of at least six of the contestants this season whose food I'd rather eat instead of Hosea's. And I love seafood more than anything, but fuck him.

Toby redeems himself at the very last.

That sucks about the bonus.

The next time you're asked to go above and beyond; remind them that you already did and didn't get the bonus and that they should ask someone who did get it to do whatever it is.

I can tell you from experience; a lot of times people get shafted out of things like that because employers think they will accept it.

Don't hit me, but I feel like Hosea's performance throughout the season was strong enough that he and Stefan could be judged on that last meal. No, I don't care for the guy. Yes, I'm unhappy that he won. But his food was better. That's the whole point of having a finale, right? Otherwise they would have just handed the 100 g's to Stefan two weeks ago.

But, shoot. How telling was it that it was Stefan who freaked out when Carla started crying and wiped away her tears while Hosea just sat there like u_u. That show saddened me so much last night. I feel like I would've been better off if I just hadn't watched and instead dreamt about Carla running away with the grand prize.

I just ... ugh, I can't remember a single damn thing he cooked this season. I can remember things that Stefan did that made me go, "Huh, I want to try that" and I've wanted to make every single dessert Carla made along with her dish in the Super Bowl challenge. But everything they've put forward about Hosea's food has bored me to tears.

I agree with you on Top Chef, Hosea didn't deserve it overall. I was really shocked Stefan didn't win. And I'm still pissed that Hosea made it to the finals instead of Fabio.

HOSEA won??

Seriously?

Seriously?

That ... um .... wow.

So I'm not watching the final then when it comes here.

Seriously. Can we say picking the worst person completely as the winner? Yes, yes we can. I'd have been happy with any of the rest of the options .... but that? ugh.

Me neither, but that doesn't mean much. Vegetarian. The only things that stick in my mind are desserts and egg dishes. :D I remember him being in the top two/three for loads of the individual challenges, though. And he came very close to winning the palate competition, which is a big deal. He did much better overall than pretty much everyone except Stefan. I'd even sort of add Carla to that mix because Hosea's road hasn't been as rocky, at least not outside of the team challenges. Our girl had a few serious missteps closer to the beginning of the season. Yet I don't think this argument would have come up if she or someone else like Jamie had won over Stefan.

Did you hear about Casey bitching about Carla? And to think I used to like her. (Casey, that is)

Toby was pissed and thought Stefan should have taken it and the judging-on-the-final-meal thing was bullshit.

The problem is, they have to judge just on the final meal...or they have to consider past performance when judging every elimination challenge. Realistically, the whole show is bullshit. Brilliant chefs (Tre) get sent home early on, and mediocre chefs hang on just by not sucking blatantly. That it works out more or less okay in the end even half the time is mind-boggling.

It's probably best to just think of the show as food porn, rather than as a competition. Less annoying that way. :(
