Dear self ... you have neither the time or the patience to do a Bitchwatch 2.0 of sorts to figure out how much airtime each character's gotten per episode since the beginning of Supernatural.

No, really, you don't.

Eh. I'm really starting to think that part of the reason I haven't written fic for SPN in so long is because I've been distancing myself from reading other people's comments and response to the show, if only because I feel lonely in liking or at least being okay with a lot of things that everybody else has problems with. I like Castiel and Pamela and Anna and Ruby and Bobby. I'm really enjoying the direction of the plot and the angel stuff. I have faith that Sam's distance from the camera will have a payoff eventually, and I'm loving the path Sam's taking. And I get that other people don't like some or all of those things, and I'm trying to stay away from that, for my sake and theirs, although I'm not totally succeeding.

I don't know. Right now I'm watching TAR, Make Me A Supermodel, Heroes, Gossip Girl, and SPN. That's it. If something isn't making me happy, I drop it. Hell, I already dropped Heroes for a while. I got into a discussion this past week on [livejournal.com profile] fandomsecrets because I keep up with TWoP recaplets of shows even after I've dropped them. Just the recaplets, not the entire recap. I read them for all of the shows I watch, all the shows I used to watch and have since dropped (Grey's Anatomy, Brothers and Sisters, Desperate Housewives, Lost, etc.), and even a few I've never watched. Throwing away a minute reading the recaplet is a big difference from watching the entire episode. And it saves me from having to go back to watch the episodes I didn't want to watch in the first place if the show starts to appeal to me again. (See: Heroes.)

I really wish there were something new for me to watch. When are my new cheesy NBC summer shows showing up? Why are they not heeeeere yet? *pouts*

You know it's bad when I've run out of Extreme Makeover Home Edition episodes to watch.

Eh, I should be working on Blood Red Carpet and The Hollow Girl anyway.

Castle is low-commitment fun. And the Cupid remake is coming soon (recreated by Rob Thomas, who made the original and Veronica Mars). A lot of people seem to be tuning into Kings, too.

All I know about SPN fen from F_W is that you are no longer allowed to like anything about the show.

Yeah, I'm starting to get that impression from F!S myself. I like Castiel the hot holy tax accountant, Dean falling apart at the seams, and Sam going all kinds of dark, onscreen or off. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH ME?!

*sigh*

You're clearly a horrible person and should leave the internet immediately.

I've never read people's ep reactions because if I like a show, I like a show and even the bad bits have good little bits in them.

Take Buffy for example. There were some shockingly bad episodes in that series but there was always one moment, no matter how teeny, that redeemed the whole thing for me.

While they're still making this wonderful, crazy show I'm in.

I'm all the way in.

P.S. I like Castiel too. I have Castiel in my Big Bang even though I had to warp canon to do it. Heh.

I still enjoy the show wholeheartedly. This is in no small part because I stopped reading certain people's reaction posts and for the posts I do read, I never read the comments.

I second the Castle rec. It is adorable.

Lie to me, Criminal Minds and 'Leverage' are all meant to be really good. I only watch Lie to me and Criminal Minds of those three though. :)

I'm agreeing with Kings. I've been really enjoying it thus far. Modern-day kingdoms, large/mythic story, heightened/formal dialogue, and a gay prince. Whee!

SPN was a show I followed because people on my flist loved it, but was never really a must-see for me. Until this season. Because throw in angels (nice dingy ones wandering around on the earth, none of that froo-froo glowy saccharine guardians-of-the-innocent shit) and I am there. Misha Collins' sad blue eyes are a not inconsiderable factor here.

Also, I completely agreed with [livejournal.com profile] missyjack's meta. I'm willing to entertain the concept that Sam is really walking a darker path than he's acknowledged here, but the show indeed had too much of a Dean's-POV slant on the matter to have convinced me. (Especially with Ruby being such a potentially redeemable demon and the angels having such tarnished wings...)
