I should note that Jim Butcher wrote a book where a wizard with a sex vampire half-brother (who occasionally pretends to be his boyfriend for plot reasons) fought a horde of zombies on the back of a t-rex that had been reanimated by live polka music... and it was awesome. So if you think you can make a semi-coherent story out of an alcoholic lesbian ninja gunslinger with superpowers who hangs out with the ghosts of pirates, then you should totally do that, because the precedent is set and you have no excuse now. *hands*
