Status of the Writer: Slow But Steady

You know what there should be? A "food" line to go with the "location" and "music" lines. Because I'm usually way more curious what other people are eating than what they're listening to, truth be told.

Anyway. Ahem.

-- I spent a good hour and a half at the cafe this morning writing out notes for the new story idea. It started out like "The Stand" with superheroes and ended up being the society-darling daughter of a powerful superhero chucking it all to open a little cafe in the middle of nowhere and maybe do that gossip blogger for superheroes thing I've had lying around and done nothing with. I don't fucking know where I'm going with this damn thing, but I've been throwing everything but the kitchen sink into it so far. Curves! Rockabilly! Bisexuality! Hey, let's see what sticks! *headsmack*

-- I've been editing GPW but man, is it taking forever. The problem with waiting until the first draft is done to edit is that now I'm rereading it and getting all down on myself because I feel like I'm saying the same things over and over again. Plus, I have a hard time editing on the computer. I'd rather edit a hard copy because I pick up more that way.

-- The Hollow Girl, I need to work on. Not so much the plot, because I've got that and the characters and whatnot figured out, I just need to get the creative motivation to work on it.

-- The one thing that does seem to be working for me well enough is my apocalyptothon assignment, but then again that's one of the perks of running the damn thing ... picking the one that makes me giddy and inspires me. ;)

I am usually eating when I post more often than I am listening to music (which is weird because I used to ALWAYS have music on, if I was even remotely near my computer), so that could be amusing.

Of course, I'm usually drinking more often than either of those things. Right now: ridiculously foamy coffee from work. Later: BRING ON THE OPAL NERA.
