Thanks for the story recs, guys. I printed off a bunch to read on the bus (and also dealt with the Glorified Optimist giving me a Look when I pulled them off the printer before I left work -- get bent, you uptight rube ... sheesh). I also spent a long time so bored out of my mind at work that I contemplated starting an LJ community where anybody could rec any fic they wanted or request recs for any kind of fic in any kind of fandom. And I don't really doubt there aren't already comms for that, but, you know ... boredom. *sigh*
The bus rides home are still making me sick. Blech. *makes face* I've never been good for long riding in anything stomach-wise, but the stale air and the cold blasting in my face doesn't help.
And a meme boosted from
ladybug218, just 'cause ...
Look through your own archive of fic. Is there one story that you love more than the others? One that got a lot of recognition? How about one that you thought was good, but only a few people read? Story I love ... I still adore
I Seek A Silent Fortress, because God knows the world needs more
Shawshank Redemption fic whether it thinks so or not.
Story that got a lot of recognition ... The one that got the most ever for me was
Ghost in the Shell, so ... yeah. :)
Story I thought was good, but only a few people read ... Well ... huh. Most of them get read by far more people than I could ever hope for ('cause God knows I'm grateful when anybody reads my stuff), and the only ones with only a few responses were for small fandoms anyway. Hell, I don't know. I guess if I have to pick one, I guess I wish
Something Biblical had gotten more responses (not that it didn't get quite a few, of course), but that's mostly because that sucker broke my back to finish writing. I came out of that bastard feeling bruised, man. *throws hand across forehead in melodramatic pose* ;)
