Me: “Oh, that is sad! But we do have non-coffee drinks available if you’d like…”

Customer: “It’s just not the same!”

(The customer grabs a bag of ground coffee, opens it and takes a deep whiff. She then shoves it back on the shelf and runs sobbing out of the store.)

Of course, if they judged demographically to get the longest-lived judge, they'd want a female, slightly overweight, tall, urban, upper middle-class, Asian-American judge with no family history of any disease whatsoever. Good luck with that!

Boy, am I not surprised at the sexist shit surrounding the S.Ct. nomination process. You know, for a profession that's so full of people who are equipped to know their rights and litigate for them, law (especially the private bar) is phenomenally sexist.
