Thanks to Linds, I now have an icon of Luke and Noah (or okay, promo shots of Van Hansis and Jake Silbermann) with a crotch-high image and the keywords "i love that my eye level is so low." Especially given that if I met both in real life, that really is about my eye level right there. Score one for the short chicks. :)

So, yeah. I filled out an online application for a manufacturing technician position at another factory in the area.
Not that I have any experience at being a technician, mind you, but hey, the requirements didn't say you had to. Manufacturing experience, sure, and since this is the third area factory I've worked in I've got that in spades. From the looks of things they train you for it, which would be awesome, and they pay three bucks more an hour than I'm making now, which means I wouldn't have to resort getting a part-time job like I'm going to have to if I stay where I am (meaning, goodbye social life and writing time), AND they have educational reimbursement. Not sure how long you have to be there to get that, but whatever.
And it's not like it's not like it's my life's dream or anything to be a machine tech, but on the same token I'm the one who wants the techs at work to tell her exactly what they're doing so she can fix it herself later and dived into the back of my laptop my own damn self to figure out what was wrong with it. I like opening electronic stuff and poking at it -- I just need to know what to poke at, is all.

I think a lot of the reason I've been suffering from awful writer's block lately is the money stress. Not like I'm the only one I know going through it. I shouldn't be grateful that my brother now works at both Wegmans and Sears in order to pay all of his bills, but I do if only because at least we're in the same boat, which is taking on water and horribly cheap and just generally needs to sink into the bottom of the ocean never to be seen again. Although not with either one of us in it.

Why the hell do I have a Carlos Mencia comedy special on my computer? GROSS.
