So I'm killing time waiting for my hair dye to be done ...

... and I'm bouncing around links and whatnot, and I just stumbled onto this post about the big guy from Varsity Blues from howtheylooknow. Uh, WOW. That right there is one awesome transformation.

Also, Frances Bean Cobain looks really pretty in that picture.

... but this was pretty much the most hilarious thing ever. (I keep forgetting to post it. Heh.)

Oh, and also the other day when I went up to my mom's house I saw a pair of really cute blue sneakers on the back porch. And today when I called her to ask her for my Wincon money back so I can make sure I can cover my rent -- *sigh* -- she said I could have the shoes if they fit because they're too narrow for her feet. Woohoo! I never have to buy sneakers. My mom inevitably gives me practically brand-new pairs anyway. :)

Speaking of shoes I want, oh, my God, the pink ones are too cute.

Why is it that I only get science-dorky about the periodic table?

I don't even remember what to DO with the periodic table, for crying out loud.

Also, according to the AP's tally, Obama effectively clinches the nomination. And Clinton's open to the VP spot. I'm torn on Clinton as Obama's VP. On one hand, I like them both (granted, they also both have flaws, and Clinton's stubbornness has been irritating me the last few weeks) and we'd get two historic firsts in one go. On the other hand, it's one thing to band together to win the election and another thing to work together well afterwards, which I'm not sure they can do. They can both manage to fight like hell, so if they can manage to direct it at the Republicans rather than at each other it might actually work. Maybe. Possibly.

And there's this NY Times article by a retired gynecologist about the days before Roe vs. Wade. The point being, of course, that abortion didn't just start because of Roe. It's just safe because of it. Too bad that fact won't sink into some people's brains.

In less serious news, next on my list of fandoms to catch up on is Gossip Girl. Hopefully I'll have it by tomorrow so I can spend my last day off watching. Otherwise it's just going to have to wait until my next four days off because I really want to try to work on the story ideas I've been toying with the last couple of days.
