Why do I do this to myself?

I'm falling in love with a secondary character in The Hollow Girl. Oh, man. (This is not as bad as it sounds, since when I fall in love with a character I inevitably set about dicking over their entire life to see how much shit they can handle. And death is always an option. I'm MEAN. ;))

I need to come up with a visual base for a soccer-mom type of woman who's secretly a badass. I'm leaning towards Felicity Huffman right now, but I'm not entirely liking it. Even though I adore her. The same with Allison Janney. Kiiiiinda right, but not quite. Maybe Frances McDormand? Hmm. *ponders*

Also, I need to keep the hell away from Mod Cloth. All it's doing is making me want to spend ridiculous amounts of money I don't have on dresses I don't have anywhere to wear.

-- If there's one thing that's amusing about rereading The Circus Fire for the five millionth time, it's watching Stewart O'Nan try desperately not to call Rick Davey a smug self-centered attention whore at the end of the book. Heh. *is a total disaster geek*

-- Heeee. Watching Wargames is hilarious. It's like watching old episodes of Saved by the Bell and waiting for Zack Morris to call someone.

The money fairy visited!

So a few years back I tried to use Ameridebt to pay off all of my outstanding debt which ... yeah, I couldn't afford that, either. So after a while, I gave up and forgot about it. Fast forward to today, when I go up my parents's house and my mother says, "Oh, you have a check from Ameridebt here."

... huh?

Well, it turns out that the FTC filed a class action lawsuit against them for hidden fees and lying about being a non-profit, and that's how I ended up with a surprise check for $36.70. Woohoo! \o/

In other news, I've only written a handful of words this weekend, the commercials for The Rachel Zoe Project are not making me like her any more than the profound annoyance I already have, and my apartment is ridiculously hot. Also, I have another long overtime week coming up and hopefully I'll get to do it all over again next week. Eh, I'll sleep when overtime's over. *sigh*
