Dec. 31st, 2009

Only five and a half more hours, you guys, and then our year-long international nightmare of a clusterfuck (aka 2009) will be OVER.

I was supposed to go to my cousin's tonight, or at least I thought I was, but I'm not. Instead I'm about to make myself dinner and curl up with the Twilight Zone marathon, and then it's writing and Yuletide reveals after midnight. (Anyone who wants to take any more guesses at which three stories in this year's Yuletide festivities are mine, this is your last chance. The only clue I'll give is that nobody's been right yet, and I know at least one of you people has recced me without knowing it. Heh.)

I was going to set fire to a 2009 calendar for a bit of catharsis, but instead I'm going to greet the new year and the new decade in a mood that I'm hoping will be a sign of things to come -- calm, comfortable, and writing, writing, writing.

I think I'll save the getting-plastered for tomorrow.

The only one of those stories which doesn't have one or more women as the lead character or characters is the gay paranormal romance, and that's simply because I really want to write the sort of fun slashy crack I love reading in Big Bangs and snap up from Dreamspinner and Samhain and whatnot.

The others are all ass-kicking chick, ass-kicking chick, ass-kicking twin sisters, ass-kicking Meryl Streep-esque character, lather, rinse, repeat. Not that I'm complaining, mind. Punchy loud-mouthed women, y'all. They're funsies. ;)
