I had a shitty day at work.

Oh, I'm sorry. Did I say I had a shitty day at work? What I meant was that I got the worst call I've ever suffered through at work -- even worse than anything I ever dealt with as a telemarketer -- from a guy who taunted, belittled, berated and insulted me in a teeth-grindingly calm voice somewhere between being deliberately confusing, pretending he was his own mother to get access to her premium information, and lying about what information he'd asked me for two minutes after he asked me for it.

Then, after I refused to go on the phones for the rest of the day after that call, I went to Wegmans with the hope that I couldn't possibly be upset by something that badly there only to have some guy who seemed to think we've got dozens of different kinds of chai all over the damn store snap that he wanted to talk to someone who "wasn't too afraid to leave the snack aisle" after the second time I informed him that everything chai-related in our section of the store was on the other side of the wall from the snack aisle we were standing in.

Today was such absolute shite that I couldn't even look at Prop 8 getting overturned in a happy light -- exactly how repugnantly right-wing is the majority of the SC again? -- or the note in my email that stated I could get an $800 Pell Grant for the 2010-2011 school year, although to be fair I don't plan to start until January if I do get to go, so it would probably be less, I imagine.

In any event ... AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH.

... and while I haven't seen last night's episode just yet, I can say this: As much as I'm supposed to loathe Angelo, I've actually ended up liking him quite a lot. Granted, he's obviously not giving other contestants good advice in regards to their dishes but honestly, why are they even trusting the opinions of other contestants anyway? Sheesh,

Alex, however, I want to set on lots and LOTS of fire.

Also, Amanda, shut UP.

I put the first season of Veronica Mars on my Zune and I've been watching it -- in the broad definition of watching that involves keeping the screen out of my line of sight so that my boss doesn't think I'm not working while listening to the episodes -- the last couple of days.

You guys, I miss that first season. Back before it went downhill in the third season, when Logan and Veronica was a pairing that was all LOL WHAT and Dick was a dick and Wallace was the B-est BFF ever and Daddy Mars was the best daddy on TV. I wish there were more shows like VM in its first season that didn't talk down to the audience.

Aaaand then my Zune decided to screw with me and shut down due to a low battery before I could watch the kiss at the Camelot. I pouted hardcore over that.

So I spoke with the lady at the admissions office who still had my file from two years ago -- she even said as much; "It's a good thing I don't throw anything away" ... heh -- and discussed when I want to start (the January session, since I still have to work out the job and financial aid situation) and what I want to major in (communications; I could take creative writing first semester!). Now I just have to talk to the financial aid office and see how much I can get.

If this works out, I may have a minor coronary. Er ... *fidgets*

Dear Emma Watson,

I adore your new haircut. It's very cute on you.

That said, godDAMN you for getting a cute new haircut when I'm trying to grow mine out from the same cute haircut and am in that delightful middle ground where I'm so frustrated with trying to tame it I'm tempted to just SHAVE my damn head instead.

Sincerely,

Me
