I went onto a Yahoo article about Cynthia Nixon's new baby featuring a picture of her, her wife, and their adorable redheaded son -- which was filled with the usual charming comments you'd expect from Yahoo commenters -- and left my own:

What an adorable baby! Congratulations to the both of them. :)

Let's see how many thumbs down I can get for being fucking NICE.

(I'm at three thumbs up and one thumbs down. C'mon, Yahoo commenters, you're disappointing me. I thought you were ALL supposed to be assholes!)

In other news, I feel out of touch with fandom lately. Seriously, I come home from work and instead of going, "Supernatural is on!" or "Community is on!" or "I have a TV and know how to turn it on!", I'm just like, "Blaaaaaaaaaah." It's really sad that the only thing I'm watching any regularity and/or am completely caught up on is American Idol, which -- and to be fair, I'm not the best judge due to only having seen one previous season in total -- is better than it was with the previous judges, as far as I'm concerned. The three of them started out too nice, and now it's Hollywood Week and they (or at least J.Lo and S.Ty) have to learn how to be mean, or at least how to say no.

The really unfair thing about not being all that excited by TV right now is that my mother just offered to give me the big-screen TV they have in their game room so that they can get another one. Yay! I'll have an enormous TV I ... don't currently have a strong urge to watch. (I am, however, THRILLED at the prospect of getting it. Eventually I will crawl out of my fannish funk, I swear.)

Okay, here's the thing. The original Arthur? One of my favorite, favorite movies. I keep reminding myself that I need to buy it on DVD, which usually leads to me reminding myself that I would watch it once a day and that's two hours every day I could be doing something else.

THAT SAID.

I can't decide whether I like Russell Brand or I hate him. He seems like just the sort of annoying bloke I should loathe, and YET. I find myself amused by him, and I think that despite the fact that I avidly dislike Katy Perry I find her more interesting and cuter the longer he stands next to her.

I really do want to hate this remake. I do. However, I may have died laughing over quite a number of the jokes, and the fact that they've genderflipped two of the roles (including casting Helen fucking Mirren as Hobson) has perked my interest.

That said, the faux!Liza Minelli does nothing for me (perhaps that's why she's only in one shot) and I'm not sure about the fact that it looks like they've eliminated the drunk bits. Then again, perhaps it's better just to abandon the drunkenness and go with the childishness, since that's more Russell Brand's stripe anyway.

So I sort of spoiled myself when I made my last tea order. Aside from more tea filters and amber sugar crystals, I got:

-- A big honking bag of the rooibos vanilla chai. Have I ever mentioned how much I just adore smelling the tea? And the rooibos vanilla chai smells phenomenal. I opened the bag and practically jammed my entire head right in there.

-- I also got the rooibos cinnamon apple, and it smells EXACTLY like apple pie. The scent is divine.

-- I also got spearmint, just because spearmint is awesome and the bag smells like gum and it certainly seems to be clearing my sinuses and possibly cleaning my teeth just from taking nice deep inhales over the bag.

-- Oh, and I realized that I had no green tea, and that is a CRIME, so I ordered the gunpowder, which has that great green tea scent that makes me think of spring because of how much it smells like fresh-cut grass.

-- I also picked up the Hot Halloween blend. I'm ... not sure. I like the smell well enough, but the ginger is a bit "HI HI HI HOW ARE YOU I'M VERY HAPPY TO BE HERE TODAY." We'll see how it turns out, but right now I'm hesitantly optimistic. (It's the pumpkin that gets me. I love pumpkin spice tea but it's rare that I'm happy with the strength of the pumpkin or spice tastes. I kinda want a pumpkin spice tea in which Pumpkin and Spice just walk right up to me and punch me right in the nose.)

When I go back into work I will have thirteen bags of Adagio tea in my bottom drawer.

... I think I can stop ordering now.

YAY.

I'm getting my refund check from school tomorrow. And my paycheck will be in my bank account Thursday night.

Oh, man, I am paying SO MANY BILLS.

(Now to figure out where I'm supposed to pick it up ...)
