apocalypsos: (i'm walking in the doorway)
The one cool thing I discovered just in time is that there is a free app for my phone that will take two equations and graph them for you so you can find out where they intersect. Which is awesome not because I don't want to work it out myself, but because it's handy for checking my homework. I'm unapologetically Annie right now -- I am hopelessly goody-two-shoes when it comes to school. (That's not a bad thing, obvs. Still. :))

Now, if only my phone would access the data network so I could make calls again. Urgh.

As for my other classes, I thought I had to do the labs in the book for my computer class, but it turns out we're supposed to save those to do in class, probably seeing as we're actually HAVING class this week. (It's supposed to be forty-seven degrees and sunny on Friday. I don't think anything is getting canceled this week. YAAAAAY.) However, what I *do* have is about seventy pages of reading to slog through before then. Hopefully, it won't be as mind-numbingly simple as the last section I had to read for class.

Aaaaaand then there's my public speaking class.

We're supposed to give a 3-5 minute speech of introduction on Sunday featuring two unique facts about ourselves. The speech itself is not giving me as much of a problem as coming up with two unique facts about myself that I can use. If we could just focus on one ... well, hell, I could talk about my writing for four minutes, no problem. It's coming up with another one that's the trick. I'm wavering between "I have a tarantula" and "I'm a total tea junkie," but I don't know. We're supposed to tie the two facts together in the end, but I'm not sure I can do that with the tarantula, which is probably more unique than the tea thing. Then again, the tea thing I can tie up with something like how nice and cozy it is to curl up with a new notebook, my favorite pen, some good music, and a cup of vanilla chai made just right on a snowy night. And Lord knows I can talk about my bottom drawer at work, which as of my next Adagio shipment will have twenty different kinds of tea in it.

Eh, I'll probably go with the tea thing, if only because it ties into the writer thing and that I think I've got more material to work with.

I've got to work on all of that today, by the way, not to mention cleaning my apartment and starting in on editing the three manuscripts that I finally managed to print out and bind but have yet to go anywhere near with a red pen. And then somewhere in the middle of that I want to try to squeeze in overtime this week. (Emphasis on "want to" - I also wanted to last week and the week before but after they keep me on the phones throughout my entire shift past the point where everyone else has been allowed to get off, I've been thoroughly frustrated and pretty much run screaming out the front door come the end of my shift.)

Urgh. Is it Parade Day yet? I swear this year I won't get as horribly terribly plastered as I did last year. Ooo, or better yet, is it Oscars day yet? I took the Monday after it off so I'd have a three-day weekend, because I am a sorry pathetic loser.
apocalypsos: (i cannot believe you just said that)
I'm supposed to be either cleaning my apartment or doing my homework.

Instead I'm putting together random blends on Adagio.

It's things like this that make me think that what I really need is an icon of Mattie Ross with the words "Future Old Maid" font-stamped on it.

EDIT: I'm up to five blends and I have literally not tried a single one of them nor tested the ones I have to make them. I have a mental image how they must taste, but that's about it.

People need to buy 'em if only so *I* can afford to buy them with the resultant gift certificates and tweak the ingredients.

DRUNKEN ROOMMATE OF EDIT: I'm up to seven blends. They're absolutely ridiculous and probably taste nothing like I think they do. :)
