apocalypsos: (i am surprised by you)
Look, I love the miniseries of The Stand like burning, but if they wanted to remake it with these casting choices right here, I would be all over that shit.

I think my favorite was Stu, but then again my favorite is always Stu. Also, tell me that's not a fantastic choice for Tom and Nick, the bestest post-apocalyptic bromance EVER. And Harold! And the Judge! And Lloyd! OMG, and Nadine!

*squeak*

That reminds me that I really, seriously need to read that book again. I love it so. When I say it's my favorite book of all time, I'm not even joking. If I had to take only one book to a deserted island, that'd be it. I mean, it's what made me discover my love of apocalyptic fiction. And I was already a hardcore Stephen King fan before I read it, so I was in love before I even got past the first page.

In other news, Otis's arm is still swollen. It doesn't appear to be hurting him, but it's just as swollen as it was before he went to the vet. So we'll see what they say when they call back. I just keep picturing another disgustingly enormous amount of pus randomly spewing all over my bedspread again.
apocalypsos: (i think that's going to leave a mark)
This morning, Otis was licking at his still-swollen arm a lot. So I went over to the bed to check out his arm and noticed that his arm was leaking pinkish fluid on my bedsheets.

So after calling off work and packing Otis away in a carrier, I headed off to the vet. He meowed a few times in the car but was really quite good overall, right until I got into an exam room with a vet tech and the vet and he refused to come out. So I reached into the carrier and pulled him out.

Apparently, his abscess must have ruptured once again, because his whole arm was soaked in bloody discharge when I pulled him out.

Soooo ... yeah. The poor baby is staying the night at the vets while they drain the damn thing, and I am throwing my bedsheets into the wash for the third time since Thursday.

Somehow in the midst of all of the Otis madness, I got my IT final done -- which was a three-part Word document, Excel spreadsheet, and Powerpoint based around one scenario -- and submitted them all through Blackboard. My teacher must not have had anything to do today because he already got them scored and entered into the system.

So how did I do this semester?

I finished IT 105 with a 99.54% average, that's how I did.

To give you some idea of where that grade came from, out of all of the assignments and tests I completed this semester, I got precisely three things wrong -- a missing hanging indent on one of my first assignments, and two questions on my midterm. I scored 100 on every other assignment.

Heh. Go, me. :D

As for my final algebra assignment and the bonus questions the teacher provided, I have to get precisely six out of the twenty questions on my homework correct so that I won't have to take the final. And I finished three out of the five bonus questions. So, yeah, after scanning the pages in and sending them in to my algebra teacher, I should officially be at the point where I only have to work on my speech assignments from now on. \o/

In other news, I keep glancing behind me expecting to see a cat there, and there is no cat there. *pouts* I almost asked my mom if I could borrow one of her cats for the night because I haven't slept without a cat in the bed in four whole years, but she already feels terrible enough about Otis.

Also, she's not a Siamese cat library. I just can't check one out.

EDIT: I just realized why I keep pouting, you guys. I'm suffering from Carpathian kitten loss. :(
