Just out of curiosity ...

... is anybody else excited by The Voice?

I wasn't sure when I first saw the commercials, the more I learn about it, the more I genuinely like the concept and feel as though I would have watched AI from the very beginning if this had been it. It's four judges I've seen perform and heard sing and therefore know have the talent to back up critiquing other singers, and they're the ones mentoring the singers they choose. And they don't get to see the singers until they're picked them out by voice, thereby keeping them from picking out singers who don't need that much work to make things easier on themselves.

It's like they made a singing competition that actually eliminates nearly all of the problems I have with singing competitions.

... oh, jeez.

I stayed home today because I have the worst headache EVER and could barely do anything all morning. I had to force myself to leave the house earlier today to pick up some food because I desperately need to go grocery shopping, and let me tell you how much of a treat that was. *groans*

So I've been trying to get my tarantula speech done and ... ugh, fuck it, I'm out.

Where I'm running into trouble is that I need four sources. But the thing is that I *don't* need four sources. The subject's so simple and personal that I could really do the whole speech without any prep off the top of my head. So finding sources for the thing is just extra busywork and nothing I find fits into the rest of the speech.

Which leaves me ... um, without a topic? Maybe? Hell, I don't know.

Maybe I really will do the zombie apocalypse speech, IDEK.

Wait, hold up ...

Can I count YouTube as a source? I was going to record my tarantula eating a cricket, but I ended finding a really good and short video of someone else feeding their tarantula on YouTube so I downloaded that one and inserted it in the Powerpoint presentation as well.

I know it's not an .edu or .gov website or whatever, but it WAS a source, after all.
