So my mother has been hounding my brother ever since he got fired -- for money, to get a job, that college isn't worth it, etc. She's been bullying the hell out of him and there's not much I've been able to do to get her to shut up.
Yesterday, she was screaming at him again and went to throw his TV, and he finally snapped. He pushed her and she fell to the ground, and he apparently lashed out at one of the cats. Then he followed her around apologizing, and THEN he called me at work sobbing hysterically. I've never heard him so upset.
To say I had enough was an understatement, but I didn't call my mom. This morning, she called me.
Also an understatement -- saying she didn't get much of a word in edgewise, as I snapped, told her she's lucky he didn't snap earlier considering she's been bullying him for three straight months, that the only reason I didn't do the same damn thing when Dad got mad at me for flunking my first college class way back when and threw a rolltop desk was because I'm half his size, that I take Lexapro and alprazolam because if I don't I have suicidal thoughts and I'll be damned if he ends up the same way, and that if she thinks I'm siding with her when she's treated him like shit for three months she's crazy, aaaaaaand then I hung up on her.
... so, nothing for my birthday this year, I'm guessing.
