Boyfriend: I dunno what I think about turning Sherlock Holmes into as much of an action movie as this looks like it's gonna be...
Me: I am too distracted by all of the sexy people to really care, baby.

Hell yeah I'll see it! RDJ is snarky, Jude law is snarky, I'm a Holmes junkie & Rachel McAdams in that outfit is well worth $12 to me.

Um.

I would probably be a little less "WTF?" if I hadn't just spent the afternoon watching the old Jeremy Brett Holmes adaptations, but still... um, what?

Not that I'm not looking forward to RDJ, and every Holmes/Watson bit made me grin like a moron because they are my OTP of OTPs. I'm just... a little bemused by the supernatural elements. And turning Holmes into an action hero. I know he can fight, but it's not usually that emphasized...

SQUEEEEEEEE. Oh god, that looks amazing. They are totally going to be my extension of House/Wilson. Stealing from each other! Someone to count on! The pretty :D Oh I am shipping Holmes/Watson so hard right now.

Well, they rebooted BSG, Dr. Who, and Star Trek, why wouldn't they reboot Sherlock Holmes as well?

WOO HOO! Action!Holmes!

On the one hand: Sherlock Holmes. Victoriana and a huge budget for all the pretty shiny Victoriana. RDJ. Rachel McAdams.

On the other hand: An action film? Holmes with the supernatural? Huh. Could go either way.

Also, I really don't like wossisface. Jude Law. But from what I saw of the trailer, I might be changing that opinion sharpish.

I am now worried that Hollywood has a feed hooked up to my id. I will have to make sure I take someone with me to this movie, lest I end up licking the screen.

But there's a lot of action in the stories - it's just usually not focused on or offscreen.

On the one hand: RDJ+JL being snarky and slashy. On the other hand: Guy Ritchie (barf); RDJ trying to do a Brit accent. Tough choice.

Oh, who the hell do I think I'm kidding - I'll sooooo be seeing this.

Hmmm.

I have no problem with Americans playing Brits as long as they at least try and yes I am looking at you Mr Costner see me afterwards, and RDJ's accent sounds okay to this BBC Englishman. He doesn't look anything like Holmes, but then neither do most of the people who've played him over the years. Jude Law is definitely a clone of Michael Caine, something I've suspected for a long time. As for canon, I think the Holmes canon exploded years ago, so pretty much anything can go if you want it to.

Looks as if it might be fun.

I'm all sorts of keen on Robert Downey Jr, but he looks... scruffier than I expected. I would have thought Holmes would have been far more...groomed.

That said, OH, my slashy heart. *swoons*

Hmm. Okay, so Sherlock Holmes enters the world of H.P. Lovecraft? Someone has been reading Neil Gaiman stories. Although Gaiman definitely did it better. Still, am intrigued.
