As someone who has had to navigate the unholy mess that is Medicare and Medicaid on behalf of a parents, I'd dearly love to kick every fucking politician and every numbnuts townhall mouthpiece who has been spouting off about the inefficiencies of government run health care. I was incredibly grateful that my father had served his country and had any type of free healthcare (though the frequent incompetency of his doctors and the red tape of just getting his pills was migraine-inducing at times), but it was not GREAT healthcare...but at least he had coverage. Government run healthcare is not perfect,no. It does not preclude private insurance through your own dime or through your work. It does, however, if done right, help a lot more than it hurts.
