I thought what was awesome about Top Chef, was that on a reality cookings how, they actually allowed a discussion about same sex marriage, and gave a space for contestants feelings about being involved in the challenge,

Yeah, this is exactly why I adore Tom. He validated her feelings and right to express them while acknowledging that he didn't quite agree with her apparently absolutist stance. He's just so damn reasonable.
