I hate this Jennifer Lopez song more than words can say, not the least of which because that the entire song comes off like an excuse to wax rhapsodic about her stupid painfully expensive shoes.

See, this is why I never liked Sex and the City.

YAY RUSSELL! I was rooting for Kathryn, but I'm so thrilled for Russell because he got such a crap deal this season, having to dance with assistants two whole episodes and Nigel continually giving him the "You've never had training!" schtick when, yeah, okay, he just showed up like that. *eyeroll*

Besides, he's such a sweetheart. Yay!

But! But! JAKOB! Oh man, the crowd I was watching with just about LOST IT when Russell won -- all Jakob fans, every last one of us.

See, I would have been happy for any of the top four to win (the Di Lellos are very nice, but ... no). I wanted a girl to win, and the past few weeks swung me totally Kathryn's way, but any of the four would have made me giddy.

That said, I get why Jakob didn't win. Because God KNOWS the boy is talented, but the show is at its heart a popularity contest, and he seems sweet but Jesus, there are times when he can just come off ... flat. I don't think it's totally his fault, really. When you're standing between Ellenore the Weird and Kathryn the Perky and Russell the Big Teddy Bear and your personality doesn't pop, it ain't gonna work.

EDIT: And I do think Nigel inadvertently buried Jakob without meaning to. Nigel is DYING for a technical male dancer to win, but he still doesn't seem to have gotten it into his thick skull that if he spends an entire season slobbering over an undeniably talented "diamond in the rough," as it were (even though looking into Russell's background and, hell, at his damn audition shows he's got lots of training in many fields), is not going to help. You set up an underdog and a lot of people like rooting for the underdog, especially when you set him up as someone who might need the money more because HE'S UNTRAINED! HE KNOWS NOTHING! HOWEVER WILL HE GET WORK?!
