So, yeah. For anybody who didn't listen to my voice post earlier today, my car broke down before work.

I decided I'd hit Wal-Mart this morning before work this morning and managed to make it all the way there before my car started acting weird. The gas kept acting jerky every time I tried to use it, and there was a growing scent of rubber. I got safely to Wal-Mart, and then it just refused to go anywhere when I pumped the gas. Peeking under the car revealed something brown dripping from under the car.

So then I had to have it towed to Pep Boys, and then after getting to work late I had to have it towed AGAIN, because according to the woman at Pep Boys there was a crack in the pan (er, whatever that means) and it's leaking transmission fluid so it would have to be taken care of by a place that does transmissions. And I won't even be able to get the car back until Friday at the earliest, because they close at five and I don't leave work until 6:30.

This is assuming, of course, that it's JUST the pan that's cracked. If it's anything more serious ... I really don't want to think about what happens if it's more serious. I'm trying to hold onto the fact that the lady at Pep Boys sounded like it really didn't look that serious to her, at least.

Eh, trying not to think about it. Instead ... is it just me, or is Human Target really just Mark Valley Is Crazy And Saves A Different Hot White Blond Lady Every Week? The commercials aren't really giving me any other impression, honestly.

Well, this week it was a Hot White Blond Lady's Ex-Art Thief Boyfriend.

Not just! It's also Jackie Earle Haley Is Snarky And Violent And Scary, Scary Smart. Even if sometimes it seems like his scenes are spliced in from a better, less silly show.:)

My sympathies and finger-crossing for the car. As for Human Target, I tend to watch it for Chi McBride being long-suffering with the snarky wisdom and Jackie Earle Haley for being the badass tech expert more than Mark Valley's vigilante, low-budget Captain America angle.

Car trouble argh.

Mostly Human Target is Mark Valley In A Bad Action Movie-ette Every Week. Which is all I ask for, really. And the Crisis On Infinite Earths ref tonight cracked me the hell up.

I am so sorry. I know this must be the last thing you need.

I'm watching Human Target mostly to see which Bond movie they rip off this week. It amuses me greatly.

Even Chi McBride can't compel me to watch that show, it seems.

A cracked pan isn't terrible, IIRC! The pan should be near the bottom of the car, so it should be a relatively easy fix.

If it's the pan? Couple bolts, gasket, new pan, some fluid, it's good. If not...? :(
