Look, I know she's the last WOC on the show, but how the HELL did Paige make the top twelve? She's terrible. She's BEEN terrible. Katelyn was lame, but she wasn't THAT lame. Urgh.

EDIT: Yuck, Tim made it, too.

OTHER EDIT: LILLY'S gone?! Seriously? Against Katie? I can tell you what America wants, Lilly. If tonight is any indication, they want pretty teenagers to sing out of tune once a week on their TV screens. Which is funny, because they're already getting that on Glee.

And it's probably not just me, but Crystal's had the same "This is bullshit" look on her face as I've had for most of the episode.

Honestly, I'm only watching at this point for Crystal, Siobhan, and (sometimes) Big Mike. Seriously, flush the rest and let's skip right to the people who should be final three, because they've already proved tonight that America can fuck up even that much when unsupervised.

I'm not too wild about Big Mike, but I'm still rooting for Crystal and Siobhan. (And Lee, because he is a total trainwreck.)

There are going to be the most surreal elimination weeks ever.

I have my moments where I like Big Mike (I did enjoy "This Woman's Work" last night, and he does seem like a nice enough guy), but the majority of the time I'm not even paying attention to him. And Lee is just ... oh, man, that poor boy STILL looks like a deer in headlights every damn week, but there's a bit of potential there, so I do have a slight soft spot for him.

Crystal (and possibly Siobhan as well) is too good for this show. The only reason I hold off on saying Siobhan is above AI is that given the right songs I think she'd make a perfect winner for the show, whereas with Crystal no matter how many times the judges tell her they adore her just the way she is I just feel like when she wins they'll be switching things up all over the damn place on her, and I get the impression she knows it. (It's a lot like the way I felt about Adam last year -- I love the boy and he is talented as hell, but I cannot see him as the AI winner, but Kris fit it to a T.)

Big Mike and his baby drama got on my nerves a lot before the live shows, but I'm not going to deny that the boy can sing. I just don't think he'll win this. (Lee has a tiny aura of awesomeness around him; mostly I'm just curious what he'll do each week.)

Oh yeah, you're so right about that. Sometimes the runner-up position is the better spot, cause you can have (a bit) more creative freedom. I'm just curious if America will keep voting for Siobhan and Crystal; after tonight, all bets are off.

You just nailed it PERFECTLY. Siobhan is doing her thing, but she's shown that she's willing to work with the show... Crystal is basically subverting the whole thing, and unless she runs away with the votes, TPTB won't let that happen. From my limited observations, though, Siobhan and Crystal are getting equal amounts of love.

I think the Siobhan/Crystal thing is a lot like the Kris/Adam thing last season. It'll come down to the two of them, and Siobhan will win because she's less resistant to the AI process than Crystal would be, but it won't matter in the end because they'll both get record deals and they'll both be awesome because they'll both be where they're supposed to be. (I love everything about Adam, but as talented as he is, he is exactly where he should be the same way Kris is. )
