There's actually been a concentrated right-wing effort to make people believe that Medicare is somehow not part of the government, because Medicare is seen by many as being at least reasonably competent. Good to see some people really living down to the condescending expectations of the political creeps who egg the Tea Partiers on.

medicare *is* socialized medicine, as much as any new plan would be. we all pay in to it but only older people qualify for it; a new plan would allow more to people to qualify for similar programs. the maker of that sign is just a moron.
