Bill Murray and Johnny Depp were robbed.

I want Jennifer Garner's dress.

And I think that was my favorite opening sequence of any Oscar show, ever.

1. I could not agree more. Either one winning would have made me very happy. Why Sean Penn? Bleh.

2. Who knew orange could look that good?

3. It was fun - Billy as Legolas was especially surreal.

Charlize Theron, apparently. I'm still trying to figure out if that shade she'd bronzed her skin was named Cheetos or Oompa Loompa.

I loved the beginning

Bwah! Fake tan disasters can look seriously bad. Not something you want when everyone is looking at you, but at least she's not in Christina Aguilera territory. Yet.

I felt so bad for Bill Murray--he so obviously HATED the clip they chose for him. Depp's clip was also none too particularly good; in fact, there were some strangely chosen clips for many of the nominees tonight. Dunno what that's about.

I want the "You're boring" song. Very, very badly.

Billy Crystal naked...? It was brilliant, but I'm still cowering, nonetheless.

The opening was absolutely brilliant. Thank you for posting about it or I might have missed it.

As you've said, there were a few things that might have gone better, but still...

Best Oscars ever. ;)

I agree. Fantastic fun. Singing is way underrated. Mystic River could have done with some cheery Julie Andrews numbers.

Also: I added you. You're on metaquotes all the time so I thought I'd save some of said time and go direct to the source. If you mind, well, then, sucks to be you.

Yes. Janet's perfectly nice nipples set the FCC on the warpath. Billy Crystal buck naked? No problem.

Er, well...

Johnny Depp might have been robbed, but even an outstanding performance on Bill Murray's part wasn't enough to save that snooze-fest of a movie.

I am also highly amused by the fact that Liv Tyler seems to have held Lisa Loeb at gunpoint and stolen her glasses.
