EDIT: Also, if Casey moves on after tonight's performances I'm going to grind my teeth to dust. Am I the only one who thought that "Daughters" performance was absolute crap? I kept wondering if the mikes were picking up Lee and Crystal humming along backstage and that's what the judges heard instead.

Wait, scratch that. Eating the mike implies he's opening his mouth wide enough for that. He needs to stop smooshing his lips against the mike and hum-grumbling against it.

Crystal's first performance wasn't perfect but "Maybe I'm Amazed" was awesome. And Lee was on a fucking ROLL tonight. They better make it into the goddamn finale or I'm going to throw a fit, seriously.

It was so, so gorgeous. I was afraid what Lee was going to do with/to Hallelujah, but his voice managed to pull it off.

You're not the only one. It wasn't good, which makes me sad, because even though I'm not a fan, I'd hoped he wouldn't phone it in. Dude, just because you know you're not going to the finale doesn't mean you can give up. Kris Allen didn't and look at the awesome it gave us in Top 3 and in the finale!

Also, Lee's growled hallelujah near the beginning of the song was perfect, and that he didn't stay growly and gritty the rest of the song was perfect. And I adore Crystal. I had hearts in my eyes through most of their performances.

You already know how I feel about "Daughters", though I couldn't possibly be rational about it even if it were Crystal singing it oh my god I loathe that song. But I must agree with the judges that his first song was completely inadequate. He didn't do it badly, but it was wimpy, when what he needed was a big performance to contrast with the second song.
