So You Think You Want To Be Spoiled For The Top Ten

So I cracked and checked TWoP's SYTYCD spoiler board for the list of this season's top ten.

A few things:

1. The list is actually eleven dancers long. There's an extra guy. Oh, come on, panel, grow a pair and get rid of one of them. Why not just paint the word FODDER on one of their backs and get it over with?

2. Sooooo we're doing Alex vs. Billy this season? Because having seen the whole list, they're the two standouts.

3. I would have preferred Anthony over Adechike, truth be told.

4. The only girl I remembered just from looking at the list was Cristina Saldana. The others I had to go check out on YouTube, and I still haven't found Ashley Galvan's audition, so I can only imagine they didn't air it. I hate when they do that.

5. I feel a bit bad for Jose, because he seems like a nice guy and he did seem to do well in Vegas, but he's also getting a real drubbing from the forum-goers over there. Sheesh.

Also, the explanation for Ida leaving the competition seems to be that she won some sort of excellence in dancing award and was going to leave the competition before Vegas so she could go accept that, but the show made her go and then had her withdraw on stage so she could get trashed for it. How nice of them. *eyeroll*

I like Alex though I'm not sure how I feel about the obvious Alex V Billy vibe.

Is that why Ida is going to leave next week? If the explanation is true, then that's pretty awful of the show :(

If they hadn't included Jose, even more forum-goers would've been pissed because then pretty much all the boys would have been the same. As much as I hate the sort of affirmative action vibe of letting a lesser dancer in over someone more skilled because the better one is contemporary, they had to bring in someone who wasn't perfect. Gosh. It'd be so boring otherwise.

And the thing is, from what I saw of the Vegas Week stuff, Jose actually did really well. Hell, all of the guys actually did really well in Vegas save for Adechike -- it's the girls I worry about. (I even like Kent, the dorky little weirdo.)

Other than Alexie (yay for her finally making it!) and Lauren (who's apparently a much better dancer than the show's letting on with their focus on her cheerleading), the girls don't exactly look promising for this season.
