So that went ... semi-well.
Jun. 7th, 2010 10:01 amSo here's how the morning's gone so far:
-- Turned in the car at the dealership with the impression that I don't plan on paying for them to fix what they didn't finish fixing in the first place. Was later told by the salesman that it was basically just a matter of something needing to be loosened. IDEK.
-- Checked with the salesman and was directed to a nice Cobalt that's basically my brother's car in blue. It's actually really nice, and I did like my brother's car while I was driving it, so I've developed a tentative crush on it.
-- After careful figuring, was given a prospective car payment of $140 bucks a month. I could work with that.
-- Headed down to the bank, and dealt with two problems on the way down there: I checked with my mom to make sure she'd co-sign just in case (which I hated to ask), and I called off work. I was trying to hurry so that I could still go, but the problem is that I can't answer my cell phone at work and the way my schedule is set up there's no way I'd be able to get this done by myself by the end of the day without taking the day off. The good thing is that after doing the math I'll be okay budget-wise. Not brilliant, mind you, but okay.
-- Talked to the loan officer at the bank, who gave us the last loan. She knows me and my mom, so that's a plus, and while my name was never on the last loan she knows I was the one making the payments and I never missed one. But I have a feeling my mom will end up co-signing again, which sucks.
So hopefully by the end of the day I will have a new car. Fingers crossed! :)
