The guy who taught me how to do one of my favorite things at work (one of the data-entry processes) passed away in his sleep this weekend from what they're theorizing was an aneurysm, since he'd been having migraines the past few weeks. He was only nineteen.

I didn't even know him that well, but he was a nice guy. And he was fucking nineteen.

Jesus fuck, the world is a pile of suck, you guys.

I found out today that one of my roommates from college was in a car accident this weekend. Her mother in law died, she's in critical condition, her 2 year old son has a broken wrist. Her husband (in the car, also a friend) was the only one to escape relatively uninjured but has now lost his mom and may lose his wife. His dad and sister were both injured as well.

All because a 17 year old ran a stop sign.

In 1968, my mother's youngest (& favorite) brother suffered a burst blood vessel while walking down the street. The doctors thought he was probably dead before he hit the sidewalk.

That's horrible, and a shock to the family. It might be worth sending a card, setting up a card at work for the family, and maybe seeing if there's a way to send food for the family. It's kinda cliche I guess, but in my experience a sudden death shakes things up so badly that no one really eats or is functional at first and can become sick. :C
