apocalypsosThis is the best phrase I've seen all day long: Pumpkin Pie Pop-Tarts.
Yeah, to say I snapped those up so fast I made people's heads spin might be an understatement. I believe I said, "Oooooooo," fairly loudly in the middle of Wegmans before scampering over to get me some. And now I kinda don't want to eat them ... I just want to stare at the box in awe.
By the way, that brought the total of pumpkin or maple-flavored items I bought today at the grocery store to six. God, I fucking love fall. :D
In any event, I had to go to Wegman's today for the same boring diversity presentation you get at every job anymore (not that it's not a valid goal, God knows, but the presentations themselves are mind-numbing as hell like most customer service-related presentations), and we literally spent fifteen minutes waiting for the woman running the whole thing to explain to two of the guys in the group what the word "diversity" means. And I don't even mean because she was speaking in business-speak or anything, but they honestly did not seem to understand the concept of accepting that they don't exist in a homogenized world where everyone is just like them. Except, you know, they were having it explained to them in the smallest words possible.
Speaking of things that made me want to bang my head against a wall, when I came out of the store with my groceries, the woman parked in the spot facing me was taking her emptied cart and putting it in the spot between our two cars and the two cars parked next us. Even with me standing there watching her leave it there -- on a day with fifty-MPH winds, when we were three spots away from cart racks on either side, AND with one of the cart guys standing ten feet behind me at ANOTHER cart rack -- she just walked away, got in her car in a hurry ... aaaaaand sat there for five minutes futzing with her purse.
Unfortunately, she left before I finished emptying my cart, rolled my eyes, grabbed both her cart and mine, and passed them off to the cart guy behind me.
