You know, I don't *hate* my job ...

apocalypsos... but I'm starting to absolutely LOATHE the woman they put in the cubicle next to me. (Hereafter known as Debbie Downer. Unoriginal, but accurate.)
She wasn't so bad when I didn't have to sit next to her during fifteen-hour days, but now it's turning every workday into a mental torture session for a number of reasons:
1. She constantly complains about how often she gets phone calls, so much more often than I do. I thought it was just timing issues, which they can't fix. However, the other day she told me she'd gotten twenty calls in the same amount of time I'd gotten sixteen. It's not actually that many more, and most of that is probably because ...
2. She can't figure out the simplest of problems on her own, so it's more likely that she's simply spending more time on the phone because she spends longer helping people because she doesn't know what she's doing. Which would be one thing, if it weren't for the fact that she keeps asking me for assistance. We have supervisors and assist reps for that. Not to mention she's been there longer than I have.
3. She's incredibly passive-aggressive. She'll complain about how many calls she's gotten compared to how many I've gotten, and then say, "I know that's not YOUR fault, sweetie." She does this repeatedly ALL DAY LONG. And if I'm not on the phones and she is, I get death glares from the time she shows up to the time she leaves.
4. She's SO robotic. Just because we have scripts for certain things doesn't mean we HAVE to follow them to the letter, but she'll do so even to the point where she sounds like she's not even talking to a person. She has absolutely no ability to just speak casually on the phone, and it grates the hell out of me far more than it should.
5. If I speak to her in a normal tone of voice from three feet away, she complains she can't hear me. However, when she talks to me, she whispers almost to the point of just mouthing what she's saying.
And that's just the start of things. She almost makes me miss Captain Asshat. Almost.
