... ooo, that's going to leave a mark.

My hometown has two main roads -- Main Street, which is fairly level and runs pretty much parallel to the valley, and Dundaff, which runs perpendicular to Main Street up the hill at about a 45-60 degree angle depending on which block you're on. Basically, imagine an upside-down T where the stem goes uphill and the top is lined by a newspaper office, a day care, a doctor's office, and a carpet store.
Anyway, Dundaff being as steep as it is, if a vehicle loses its brakes or hits a patch of ice, there's pretty much no way it's not going to avoid hitting a building or two. The doctor's office was hit a few months ago, breaking the windows in the facade. They had just finished fixing them a week ago, aaaaaand another car hit them.
So I call my mom on my last break and she says, "Oh, did you hear what happened?!"
It seems that when my mom and great-uncle were at lunch together at a local bar today, someone burst in and said, "Come quick! A car carrier just took out the carpet store!"
So of course, everybody made a run for it, because there's no such thing as entertainment in my hometown.
It's easy to joke because no one got hurt. The driver and the store owner got a bit shook up, but that's about it. I'm a bit more grateful now that my computer class is ending early tonight, because my mom said they're tearing down what's left of the carpet store tonight and I want to see it before it goes.
