I'm just going to give up making any more money ever, because I suck at it.

I was so incredibly tempted yesterday to do something against the rules at work and do a nice deed for a customer. I was speaking with this old woman who was absolutely frazzled because she disenrolled last month since she couldn't afford prescription coverage anymore, but we accidentally sent her a bill for this month and next month, and she was so worried because she only gets $400 a month of Social Security and couldn't afford it, so I told her not to worry because we did show that she was disenrolled and so she could just throw the bill away. And since she was a bit freaked, I said, "So you can throw it away, go relax and sit down with some tea and a good book --"

At which point she told me she didn't have any tea because she couldn't afford it.

If it weren't for the fact that I could easily get fired for it, I totally would have taken down her address and sent her a care package filled with all kinds of tea. She was such a sweetie, and the tea comment just made my heart break a little. This fucking country, I swear to God.

(Of course, I say that even though after paying my car payment and phone bill, buying food, putting some gas in my car and paying to copyright Heroine Addiction, I am officially tapped out until my next payday, which is ... oh, next Friday. Sometimes I just really genuinely hate my fucking life, damn it.)
