You know Crystalwank? Yeah, well, she confessed. Sort of.

And I'll say exactly what I said in cleolinda's journal. I'll give her credit for apologizing. I don't put up with five things -- stupidity, bigotry, hypocrisy, bullshit, and lies. (This is, of course, why I love Dubya so much. *eye roll*) If you're willing to admit when you're wrong, though, I'll step back. Admittedly, she didn't say she was sorry for everything she's done, but at least she said she was lying and sorry about some of it. It's better than you get most of the time, especially when people have insisted on digging themselves a hole this deep.

What irks me is the friends-locked post, and the repost at fandom_wank. Already, people are yelping, "Ack! Friends-lock repost! Bad, bad, bad!" Which is understandable. But what gets me is that she friends-locked it when, as she says at one point in her post, someone on her friends list is reposting stuff to thread at fandom_wank. Which means she knew damn well that someone would repost it, and she friends-locked it anyway.

This means she now has a truly legitimate beef against fandom_wank that isn't OMG THEIR PIKING ON MEE!!11!WTF?! (Btw, it's really hard to type that stupid.)

And to be honest, I think she planned it that way.

Yes, it's The Wank That Ate Fandom, once again All. About. Crystal. She's like Marissa Cooper, in a way.

Urgh. I need to go write some porn to clear my head. Or, you know, clutter it with pretty naked people. Like this guy. (Where the hell does British royalty get off looking that good in a Speedo?! Right now, I'm reading A Treasury of Royal Scandals. It's nice to know that no matter how violent, sex-crazed, or self-centered the rest of the history is, at least it ends with a pretty, nearly-naked guy in a Speedo. :)

I still think her apology was a big ol' stack of bullshit. She admits to tracing, yet still considers it HER art. She admits that taking money for them might have been bad, yet she took money for it anyway and tried to alleviate some of the guilt by giving some of the money to charity (do we believe that? can we really believe ANYTHING she says?). She didn't address trying to take credit for other people's pictures, or her run-ins with the boys in LA, which I would LOVE to grill her about since I was there when she supposedly was.

I wish my friend hadn't fallen for Crystal's tricks and posted the entry, though. She got it from someone who Crystal has friended - which just goes to show how good Crystal's "friends" are.

Well, if she's trying to end the wankage, she's failing miserably. Which, of course, I think it's blatantly obvious she's isn't trying to do. She's an attention whore, and good or bad, she'll take what she can get. The fact that the more she talks, the worse she looks, has totally escaped her.

I'll give her credit for posting an apology at all, but it IS bullshit, and I think we both know it'll fuel another five or six pages worth of comments. (That's me, underestimating. :))

I think you're right. I saw the friendslocked post get reposted at fandom wank last night and I was immediately both suspicious and frustrated. Suspicious, because its clear Crystal posted that fulling expecting it to be reposted on fandom wank and played the situation to her advantage. Frustrated because it worked. Resposting friends-locked posts is a most definite fandom-wank no. And the justification people are pulling over there of "well she clearly knew and intended for us to put it up, so its ok to break the rules this time" just stinks to me. If they're going to say the TOS aren't biased towards fandom wank and they do take them seriously, then there shouldn't be "well she's a special super-duper wanker" reasons for flouting them.

Sorry, didn't mean that to turn into a rant, not aimed at you I promise.

For the most part, the pages and pages of comments have little to do with the wank itself. Most wanks very, very quickly turn into strings upon strings of side comments, silly icons, and just plain messing about.

I was annoyed about the poster, because yes, original friendslock repost= badbadbad. That's it. I am annoyed because it's just not good for F_W.

CGs intentions and her dodgy apologies have little to do with that. Yeah, otherwise I could be annoyed some more because someone's trust and feelings have been hurt, in the process. I'm sure that does not really apply in this case, so yay.

It's just, F_W really hasn't lots of rules. There is absolutley no lack of space to realize your inner meanie there, so I don't get that urge to break the few rules that be.
