Random thought while writing

You know that "My fandom character ..." meme that went around a while back? Every time I write an X-Men fic, I keep meaning to write one for Jubilee. Because I've begun to notice that my Jubilee is inevitably somewhat more of a klutz than she ever was anywhere else I've seen her, seems to live entirely off of junk food, and tends to vary between hyperactive cuteness and casual whatever-ness at the weirdest times.

Not to mention her apparent ease with making out with Elizabeth Swann. Um, I think my Jubilee may be an equal opportunity slut, actually.

Oh, well, back to writing porn.

Face it. Jubilee is the original sexually confused teenager. Or, as many of us prefer to believe, a Great Big Lesbo.

Have I mentioned, though, that I'm very fond of your Jubilee? Even by the standards of Jubilees in general? She's pleasantly psychotic.

Um, it should be born in mind that even as a klutz, she could probably still take Elizabeth in a fight. Just sayin', is all.

I remember when she was in the comics, period. Rather than a Generic Token Asian (have you ever noticed that all Austen's central characters are white, and many of them blonde?) who never says anything and has powers that can be avoided by stitching your eyes shut.

Canon sucks.

Well, yeah. They had. Matter detonation/conversion to plasma, and control of the result.

But according to Fuckin' Austen, they're just sparkly flashes of light. And she doesn't know how to fight. And that thing where Elisabeth 'I-can-find-Wolverine-from-nine-thousand-miles-away' Braddock couldn't find her with a psi-scan at thirty yards? Forgotten; she's any telepath's target.

It's actually a relief that he doesn't use her as a major character.
